Hi friends!

I wanna talk about the PERFECT Sunday reset routine for ultimate productivity and supporting your mental health. You’re going to wanna know, trust me!

Whether you’re religious or not, Sundays are the perfect day of the week to find some order in your life. It’s the day for getting your sh*t together if I’m okay to say that, haha! But there’s truly no better way to describe it. Sundays are the beginning of the week, and they tend to set the tone.

The mindset that you create throughout your Sundays becomes the mindset for the rest of your week.

Your perfect Sunday reset routine is TOTALLY personal and based upon what you want to focus on in your life right now. Whether it’s health, mindset, or business, it’s going to look different for all of us. However, there are steps you can take to make it a productive day altogether.

I’ve compiled a list of 17 ideas and tips to use when trying to create YOUR OWN Sunday reset routine. Hopefully, throughout this list, you can find ideas that will help boost your productivity throughout the week as well as get that mental health back into shape!

YOU ARE THE CREATOR OF YOUR REALITY. And it is as easy as making your Sundays count. So let’s get our sh*t together…together!

This post is ALL about the BEST sunday reset routine for productivity!

Don’t wake up too early OR too late.

Specific, huh? Well, there is a system I’ve created, so don’t worry.

In my own opinion, I don’t believe that Sundays should be a day where you should stress about waking up. Waking up in a rush is something for workdays and workdays only. Throughout our Sunday reset, we want to be in the best possible state of mind, and letting our body do the waking up for us is a great start.

Throughout my days, I’ve seen people recommending getting up at 5 or 6 AM on Sundays, and I am just going to give those wonderful ladies a quick round of applause. HOWEVER, I am not one of those people. I believe that letting your body wake up with the sun is the best thing that you can do for it.

I do place limits on myself, however. If I simply just stated, “I’m going to wake up with the sun” and did nothing else, I would most definitely be waking up at 11 AM, guaranteed. What I love to do is set an alarm for 10 AM. Yes, that could be considered late, but the hope is that I wake up earlier and with the sun! The alarm is simply a safety precaution.

There you have it, wake up doing what feels right to your body. Sundays are a day for your body to feel wonderful and cleansed. Let it REST. I promise you won’t regret loving your beautiful body for a day.

Don’t check social media until noon!

I’m sure I don’t need to tell you what you’ve heard THOUSANDS of times, but social media can damage your self-esteem big time! Sunday is a day for YOU, and as a day for YOU, don’t you deserve to feel like a bad*ss?

It’s okay to go through it, but try to stay off of it until at least noon. This way you’ll feel more refreshed, and can hopefully accomplish a few more things throughout your day before you start scrolling 🙂

Drink a glass of water

Start with a glass of water right when you wake up. However, you should try to have a glass or bottle of water with you at all times, just as a reminder to stay hydrated!

Water is essential for body function, and you want to love love love your body. It does so much for you, so pour yourself a glass!

Pick up around your room or office

After you’ve woken up a little bit and gotten something to drink, try to tidy your area. Having a clean area is directly linked to having a clear mind.

If you want to be able to max out on your productivity throughout the day and the week, you’re going to NEED to pick up a little bit. I have a hard time focusing on my writing if I know my room is a mess.

It’s all about creating systems, and in this system, creating a habit of tidying up your space will lead you to overall better productivity habits.

Journal and reflect on the previous week

Oh, man. You know I could go on and ON about journaling. It is truly one of the most beautiful things in my opinion, and it is something that I look forward to EVERY day.

I have a specific journal prompt that I use for Sundays. Sometimes it varies a LITTLE bit based on what I need, but it never strays far.

I have these prompts and MORE up on my page…check them out!

Do yoga & meditate or go for a walk

Movement is so important! Moving around for even just 5-10 minutes a day will help keep your vibrations high. It is the secret key to happiness.

On Sundays, I like to keep it lowkey. Some relaxing yoga and meditation or a walk outside usually gets me my fill for the day and helps me feel more accomplished.

Give your mind and body some care, you won’t regret it!

Go through your calender and plan your week

To maximize your productivity throughout the week, I highly suggest that you are planning out your week the Sunday prior. By planning out your weekdays ahead, you are setting expectations for yourself. Through these expectations, you increase your chances of achieving all your weekly and long-term goals.

You got it!

Check emails and texts

So, does anyone else here have a problem answering messages? I certainly do.

Sundays are the perfect day to go through all of your unanswered emails and text messages that you’ve been neglecting. Once you’ve answered them, it feels as if a big fat weight has been lifted off of your shoulders…and that’s what we want on our self-care day, yeah?

Take just 30 minutes and try it out!

Plan meals, grocery lists, and go over your budget

I have found that planning out meals is a game-changer! I don’t mean making small containers of meals to eat throughout the week, but just writing down what you want to eat each meal, each day. With a busy schedule, it’s hard to have to fit in figuring out meals every day…this makes it easy! And if you go off schedule, it’s not going to be the end of the world. It just gives perfect suggestions and helps your brain a little bit!

When you’re planning your meals, it also makes grocery shopping a LOT easier. You’ll then know exactly what ingredients you’re going to need to buy. It’s a win-win because you waste less and save money by not buying things you don’t need!

It is also so crucial to make sure you’re checking your budget and spending frequently! Sometimes we want to avoid the reality of all of our spending, but by doing that, we don’t make any changes. Try to go over your budget every Sunday and see the areas in which you need to improve, or even be more lenient! It’s all personal.

I personally use Mint to track all of my finances! It works great for me 🙂 Here’s the link: https://mint.intuit.com/

Give yourself 1-2 hours to get any necessary work done

I wish that I could say that I was one of those people who somehow does NO work on Sundays. But as a student, that is just not possible for me.

However, I think it is a good idea to limit the time you are working, just to give yourself a little bit of a breather. I give myself 1-2 hours of work time where I put all of my focus into it, and then I can care for myself the rest of the day!

We’re all busy, so it’s okay if you need an extra day to work on certain projects. Just be smart with your time, and think of your well-being!

Take a thorough bath/shower

Girls, you know what I’m talking about when I say there are different TYPES of showers…

Sundays are the perfect day for a FULL-ON shower where you’re getting everything done. I love to do hair masks and facemasks in the shower, exfoliate, shave, and moisturize afterward! This is a day for you, so make yourself feel GOOD

I also LOVE baths on Sundays. I don’t do it every week, but when I do, it always raises my vibes! I’ll usually put on an Emma Chamberlain video and just lead myself through some nice, deep breathing. It feels amazing!

Put on a podcast!

The next few ideas are kind of chore-like, so I have a quick tip. Put on an inspiring and uplifting podcast as you do a few chores to put your life in check. I’m going to be making a blog post of ALL of my current podcast faves…so definitely check that out! I’ll link it once it’s live!

Go through your closet

When I say “go through your closet” do you feel a little bit of dread? I know I definitely could relate. However, consistency is key to this habit.

If you’re going through your closet EVERY week, it’s not going to be a hassle at all! You just have to do a quick run-through of everything you own, and if something isn’t serving you, take it out!

The act of going through your things does not need to be an hour upon hour excursion. The more often you do it, the less of a pain it is each time you do it. Baby steps and more baby steps!

Do your laundry and wash your sheets

Nothing is better than that clean-sheet-feeling, right?

Sunday is the day you should focus on all things laundry. It’s an easy task, but sometimes feels so hard to do…so just quickly do it during your relaxing Sunday afternoons!

Sometimes remembering to wash your sheets can be difficult, but if you implement it into your weekly Sunday routine, you’ll notice a difference!

Not only does it feel good, but washing your sheets also benefits your skin and hair. There can be a gross buildup of SO many things in and on your sheets. If your sheets are dirty, they can cause breakouts on your skin!

Add that to the to-do list, haha!

Water those plants!

If you’re a plant mom, I hope you understand this task. It can be SO easy to forget.

I’ve had to try to implement this new habit into my Sunday routine so I don’t kill my poor, poor plants! My particular plants only need water once a week, so it has been easy to remember to do it every Sunday. If they need to be watered more, then water them Sunday and any other day of your choice!

Make it easy for yourself!

Read a book of YOUR CHOICE

I had to make a point to emphasize the YOUR CHOICE statement. I happen to do a LOT of reading.

Guess how much of that is textbook material? Basically all of it.

Reading is SO important for your growth, and if Sunday is the only day that you can fit it in, I will be just as proud! But most importantly, make it something that you want to read. Don’t let it be a textbook or something for your work. Let it be for fun, let it be for learning something that interests YOU!

Write down your routine

Here’s my final tip. Write it down! It can be so easy to skip steps of your routine, and through writing it down you are embedding it into your memory! And if you forget? Just look at the list.

Configure a routine that benefits you and nobody else! You are the creator of your life and your reality, so make it worth it!

I hope that if you’re reading this you’re receiving SO many good vibes and that you’ll have an AMAZING week! So much love going your way! Here’s also a little motivation for your day:

YOU CAN USE IT AS AN EXCUSE OR YOU CAN USE IT AS YOUR WHY!

No more excuses, live the life that YOU want. It’s in your hands.
